James is a 32 year member of the Professional Golfers Association of America. During his time with the PGA he has served as a golf professional at Atascocita Country Club in Humble,Texas, Woodhaven Country Club in Fort Worth Texas, Lake Panorama National Golf Club in Panora, Iowa, Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake, Iowa and most recently at Waveland Golf Course in Des Moines.
